Message from Fr Sean Cullen | Bishop’s Annual Appeal & Zoom meeting

September 16, 2021

Dear Parishioners,

Another week, another week closer to opening up. Hopefully, we can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

This weekend, the Bishop’s annual appeal is being observed. This year the appeal will support two important ministries:

1.   The need for the diocese to look after 13 retired clergy and plan for the care of another 5 who will retire over the next five years;

2.   Continue to offer valuable support for a clergy care coordinator.

If you would like to help, please visit DOW.ORG.AU/GIVING.

During the lockdown, and while we cannot gather for Mass, it is hard to keep contact with others. The online recording of Mass is helpful but is never a substitute for physical presence.

Next Wednesday evening, 22nd September, from 7pm-8pm, I will be hosting a zoom meeting. This will be an opportunity for us to see each other and discuss the challenges of our situation, and also to hear about what plans we have for when restrictions are eased. But most of all, it will be simply a chance to stay connected.

If you are interested in attending, just reply to this email and we will send you a link that will take you straight into the meeting. It is very easy.

Also, if you know of any other parishioners who would appreciate this opportunity, please invite them.

With blessings for the coming week.

Fr. Sean.
