Message from Fr Sean Cullen | 24 September 2021

September 24, 2021

Dear Parishioners,

Thank you to those who attended our zoom meeting during the week. It’s never the same as being present physically with each other, but at least we could see familiar faces and keep that contact going. We may schedule another one in the next couple of weeks.

One of the issues discussed at the zoom meeting was how we are to deal with the challenges of opening up our Churches again, when we are given the green light (hopefully by mid October). Of course, we will be guided by the public health orders, limitations that will be imposed by the government and our own diocesan directives. But rest assured, every possible action will be taken to ensure a safe and respectful return to Mass. Patience and understanding are very important at this time.

First Holy Communion is traditionally held during November, and it is hoped that this will go ahead, perhaps with some changes to the date and preparation. Confirmation, which was postponed in July, will also be celebrated before the end of the year. I will notify families involved in both Sacraments as soon as we gain some clarity from the government.

With blessings for the coming week,
Fr. Sean.
