Message from Fr Sean Cullen | 15 July 2021

July 15, 2021

Dear Parishioners,

It is a requirement of all Parish Priests to offer one of the Sunday Masses each week “pro populo,” (for the people).

I want to let you know that, even though we are unable to celebrate Mass because of the lockdown, I am offering one of the Sunday Masses in Bowral each week for the intentions and needs of you all in Ingleburn. I hope that you are able to access Mass via the diocesan website or one of the many other available options.

I am very conscious of the sadness caused by the lockdown in that we are not able to gather as a parish community and express our faith through public worship, and I know we are all praying for a quick end to this crisis.

The timing is especially unfortunate for the parish as we were starting to gather momentum through structures like the Finance Committee, and the Parish Pastoral Council being established, music gradually being re-introduced into Mass, moving of the parish office and other pastoral programmes being initiated.

The bishop was scheduled to visit the parish to confer the Sacrament of Confirmation on 25th July, but for obvious reasons this has been postponed to later in the year.

Michaela is still working during this time, so if you need any information or assistance, please contact the parish office by phone or email.

Although I am fully engaged in Bowral/Mittagong parish duties which are largely unaffected by the lockdown, I am sorry I cannot be with you physically at this time, but please be assured of my thoughts and prayers until restrictions are eased.

I hope you are safe and well, and I extend every blessing to you and your families.

Kind regards,
Fr. Sean.
