Sacrament of Baptism

Baptism is the first sacrament and through Baptism, we are welcomed into the family of the church.

Therefore, parents are encouraged to have their children baptised in their local parish, or in the parish community in which they normally worship.

In 2026 the Sacrament of Baptism will be celebrated, when possible, in our Parish on the second or fourth Sunday of each month at a special Mass at 10:30am at Holy Family Church Ingleburn.

You will also need to meet with Fr Henry for Baptism preparation for parents. Baptism preparations are held monthly on Sunday leading up to the Baptism date at 3:30pm and Mass at 5pm will follow straight after. We will confirm the dates for preparation with you when your booking is confirmed.

Families who bring their children for baptism are encouraged to actively participate in the services and activities of the Holy Family parish, this includes attending Mass regularly on weekends. Families should continue to stay engaged and committed to the parish even after your child has been baptised, supporting your child’s ongoing spiritual growth and faith.

“Through the sacrament of baptism the faithful are incorporated into Christ and into his Church. They are formed into God’s people and they obtain forgiveness of all their sins. They become a new creation and are called, rightly, the children of God.” (Rite of Christian Initiation, General Introduction, n. 1)

Please contact the parish office if you are an adult, young adult or have an older child (7-12yrs) enquiring about Baptism.

The Sacrament of Baptism for children 7yrs to 12 yrs will be celebrated at the Holy Saturday Vigil on 4th April 2026 at 7:00pm Mass.
Sacrament preparation will be held in the parish office as follows:

Sunday 22nd February at 3:30pm followed by 5pm Mass
Sunday 1st March at 3:30pm followed by 5pm Mass

Please contact the office if you would like to register for the Sacrament of Baptism.

Sacrament of Marriage

Holy Family Church is available for the Sacrament of Marriage. Please note, only Catholic weddings are permitted in our Catholic church.  For a Catholic wedding, at least one party must be of the Catholic faith.

Holy Family Church receives a very large number of requests from couples who wish to get married here. The Parish Priest is unable to celebrate weddings for couples residing outside of the parish, due to other work he has been appointed to and only celebrates the weddings of couples who reside in the parish. Couples that reside outside of the parish of Ingleburn, and are not parishioners, should arrange for their own Catholic Priest to marry you. You will need to meet with the Catholic priest marrying you to complete all the marriage paperwork required for the church and the Government. If either party has been married before, please let the priest know as soon as possible.

Some other information you may want to know about our church….
·         Our suggested start time for a Saturday wedding is no later than 2pm or no later than 1pm for a weekday Mass. Due to Mass commitments, no weddings will be held on Sundays.
·         You are welcome to provide flowers &/or pew decorations for the church. Couples are encouraged to leave some of their floral arrangements in the Church for the parish. However, if the flowers are being donated to the Church, couples are asked to arrange removal of the flowers immediately after the ceremony. No flowers can be left in the church during the Season of Lent, all flowers must be removed from the church immediately after the ceremony (Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and concludes with the Easter Vigil).
·         No animals allowed in the church. We understand that your pets are an important part of your family but we do not allow animals (other that service animals) in the church.
·         Please organise for two of your guests to open the doors for you to walk down the aisle.
·         No confetti/rice/petals or any other materials may be thrown in or around the Church.
·         You are welcome to make your own arrangements for musicians, photographers, and videographers for the wedding at your own cost. All musicians and singers are required to bring their own equipment including microphones. Music and reading selections should be discussed with your Priest.
·         No alcohol to be consumed on the premises. No smoking on the premises.
·         A rehearsal can be arranged if requested by your officiating Priest. The Priest must be in attendance for this rehearsal to proceed. The rehearsal can be scheduled for no longer than one hour. Please ensure you are on time.
·        The fee for weddings in our Parish is $1,000.00 which includes the wedding rehearsal (These amounts are reviewed each year and there may be an increase for weddings beyond 2025).
