Our parish

Our Pastor

After the retirement of Fr Peter Caruana, who served the Holy Family Parish for 36 years, and the leadership of Fr Sean Cullen as Parish Administrator for 18 months, the Bishop of Wollongong appointed Fr Henry Adler SVD, the new Parish Priest of the Holy Family Parish, Ingleburn and Minto.

Fr. Henry has been a member of the Society of the Divine Word, (Divine Word Missionaries) since 1984. He was ordained to the Priesthood in 1999 and has since served in various ministries within his Order. Fr Henry served seven happy years as a missionary in a remote part of the Papua New Guinea Highlands. After returning from PNG he undertook specialised training as a Spiritual Director in preparation for his new ministry as a Seminary Formator. Fr Henry has also held a number of leadership roles in his Order such as Mission Secretary or Provincial Superior.

Before coming to Ingleburn in January 2022, Fr Henry served as Assistant Parish Priest in Parishes of Sydney Harbour North.

“I am happy that the Bishop of Wollongong has called me to this assignment and I’m grateful to Fr Sean Cullen for his tireless efforts during the past 18 months to prepare the Holy Family Parish for a new Parish Priest.

I never had the privilege to meet the late Fr Peter Caruana, who served you with love and dedication for 36 years, but I hope to continue his legacy, together with the people of this parish. I don’t think anyone would be able to top what Fr Peter has done for the people in Ingleburn and Minto, but I hope that you will see that I want to serve God and you all, with the same dedication.

Our parish is a culturally diverse community of Christians whose beliefs are rooted in sacred scripture and the traditions of the Catholic faith. I truly believe that as we strive together to fulfill the commandments of Jesus to love God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength and to love one another as He has loved us, we will bring about the Kingdom of God among us. Each time we gather as community for worship, we are nourished in Word and Sacrament, and are sent forth to be, to see and to experience Christ in the world with friends and strangers alike.” – Fr Henry Adler SVD

We welcome you all to our parish!
