In Our Parish : Music Ministry Gathering 2025
December 10, 2025
The parish Music Ministry gathered on Thursday 20 November for an evening dedicated to community, fellowship, and reflection on the shared mission of supporting the parish through music. Musicians, singers, and support volunteers from all Masses attended, creating a vibrant and diverse representation of the ministry.
The timing of the gathering was especially meaningful, taking place just before the Feast of Saint Cecilia on 22 November. As the patron saint of music and musicians, St Cecilia is a reminder of the important role that music plays in the life of the Church. Her example highlights how music is not only an artistic expression but can also be a form of prayer and service.
A focus on service and collaboration
Throughout the evening, attendees shared experiences, offered personal reflections, and explored ways to support one another across the various groups that contribute to our parish’s liturgical life. The reflection centred on the deeply personal and spiritual role of music in prayer, highlighting the grace of serving the parish community and the importance of unity and encouragement within the ministry. The atmosphere was one of gratitude, commitment, and renewed purpose as attendees acknowledged the gifts and talents God has provided to share and enrich parish worship.
The gathering concluded with a shared meal, which provided an opportunity for connection and community building outside of the usual Mass commitments. This time of relaxed fellowship allowed members, both long-standing and new, to deepen relationships and strengthen the sense of community that sustains this ministry.
Thank You
Thank you to every member of the Music Ministry who attended this gathering and to everyone who contributes to the Music Ministry throughout the year. Your dedication enriches parish worship and helps create a prayerful environment for all. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide and inspire your service, and may St Cecilia encourage all who strive to make music that lifts hearts and glorifies God.
If you are a musician or singer in the parish and feel called to share your gifts, please contact the Parish Office. New members are always welcome.
May our music be a living prayer.
