Catechist team – like to join??
July 25, 2024
Wish to help children know Jesus’ love for them?
We are very fortunate to have a great team of catechists in the parish, but would always welcome more – to allow us to cover for catechists who are unable to attend any week, and to provide more catechist helpers for the classes.
For those who are interested, the CCD are running the mandatory level one training course by Zoom, starting soon.
The course will run from 9:30am until 1:30pm on the following four Mondays: 19th August, 26th August, 2nd September and 9th September.
(There is also an on-line course, which can be completed at your own pace, and, next February there will be a face-to face course in Campbelltown).
This zoom course, being conducted soon, will provide us with catechists / helpers starting from Term 4 this year, or from term one next year.
We provide Special Religious lessons to students in local state schools on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Catechists teach in one or more schools, on one or more days depending on their availability. Help is required each week during the school term.
Tuesday schools : 11am – 12:15 and 1:45 – 3pm
Wednesday schools: 12:15- 12:45pm, 1- 1:30pm, and 2-2:30 pm
Friday schools: 10:10 – 10:50am and 12:30 – 1:40pm
Interested? And have the time? (retired, children at school, student studying…)
Please give Jo Mortimer a call (ph: 0402974473) or leave your details on the clipboard at the catechist information table in the Church foyer, so that Jo may speak with you and explain what is involved.
