The worldwide consecration of Ukraine and Russia to Mary

March 25, 2022

The Holy Father, Pope Francis, has announced that at 6:30pm (Rome time) on Friday 25 March, the feast of The Annunciation of the Lord, he will make a “solemn act of consecration of humanity, and especially of Russia and Ukraine, to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, so that she, the Queen of Peace, may obtain peace for the world.”

Pope Francis has asked all the bishops of the world to join him in making the same consecration in union with him. The Holy Father is also encouraging parish priests to do the same in union with him and the bishops in their parishes.

Our parish will be making the act of consecration in union with the pope during Masses over the weekend.

For those wanting to make the act of consecration at the same time as the Holy Father, Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church (80 Demetrius Road, Rosemeadow) will be making the act of consecration at 4:30am on Saturday 26 March followed by a simple Mass and at St Francis Xavier Cathedral (36 Harbour Street, Wollongong) during a votive Mass at 8:00am on Saturday 26 March.

All are welcome to attend and are encouraged to join in this solemn act of devotion and intercession with Our Heavenly Mother for peace in the world.
